Thefts and vandalism reported
* Between Feb. 7 and 18, someone cut the lock from the side door of Reed Landscaping's enclosed construction trailer parked at the National Guard Armory in Lewisburg and took a number of items. They included a Stihl chop saw, a red twin-tank air compressor, and a Northern hydraulic cutter, worth a total of $2,030, and supplies, including aluminum pipe, pipe sleeves, and pipe stands, worth $4,112.50. Some of the aluminum was sold at Commerce Metals and was recovered from there, along with a copy of the seller's photo ID and a description and tag number of his car.
* A seismograph worth $3,800 (serial number 11167SM) which was put out at the end of the driveway of a home on Hwy 99 on behalf of Marshall County Stone was missing when an employee of Saul's Seismic Inc. went to retrieve it on Feb. 20.
* On Feb. 20, a Lewisburg woman reported her 40-inch Hisense Smart TV, worth $398, had been stolen from her home on Cedar Street. At the same time, she reported an iPad 2, worth $1,300, was also missing, but it has been gone since the weekend before New Year's Day. The woman told Lewisburg Police Officer Clyde Ragsdale she suspected her ex-boyfriend of both of the thefts.
* A Nashville man reported to Marshall County Sheriff's Department he left his 1998 Chevy Malibu, worth $1,000, parked at his uncle's home in Marshall County in July 2012, and said a woman admitted to him she sold the car at a scrap yard without his permission.
* Around Feb. 1, someone removed items worth a total of $845 from a rental property on Greenwood Road. The missing items include a Frigidaire window airconditioner, a heater, a .22 caliber bolt pistol, a B&D circular saw, and assorted hand tools.
* A 1974 Oldsmobile 455 motor was stolen from the garage of a home on Hull Avenue, possibly within the last two weeks. The victim, who lives at a different address, valued the motor at $800, and told police the motor had a "J" on the back of the passenger cylinder head and on the front driver cylinder head.
* The back windshield of a Ford Explorer was broken out between Feb. 23 and 24, while the vehicle was parked at the owner's home on Finley Beech Road. Nothing appeared to be missing from inside the SUV. Owner estimated it would cost $750 to replace the windshield.
* Between Feb. 22 and 24, while the owners were away, a black Xbox 360 console and an Xbox game, worth a total of $460, were taken from a home on Silver Creek Road. A bedroom was also ransacked, but nothing else appeared to be missing and there were no signs of forced entry.
* Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, worth over $200, were taken from the owner's bag while he was playing basketball at the Rec Center on Feb. 24. Lewisburg Police Officer Anthony McLean was given the name of a person who was seen taking the headphones and leaving the gym.
* Between 2 p.m. Feb. 22 and 8 a.m. Feb. 23, someone threw a large piece of wood through the glass door of Real Deals on East Commerce Street. Nothing appeared to be missing from inside the building, but some items had been scattered across the floor. No dollar amount was stated for replacing the glass.
